  • Sorry I disappeared.. decided to do myself a DFW haircut. Hasn't turned out too bad at all and I've saved £35 by not going to a hairdresser! Woo!

Well done you! I will quite happily trim other folks hair if I am asked but I have never been brave enough to try it on myself! I do get my sister to dye it for me when it is needed - £6 instead of £40! :T

Oooh, the hailstones just started outside when Casey was out - she didnt know what to do!

See you all later! Must go and get ready for work!

Well I'm quite lucky that my hair is long and thick so if I make a mistake it's not too hard to sort it out and I've got tonnes of hair! lol! I dye my hair as well but dyed it back to close to my natural colour last time so it won't need doing again (in theory) and I hope to let it grow out completely at some point.

Blooming thing came crashing down right on my bonce. OH isn't in so can't get any sympathy. (Although I don't deserve it as it was my own stupid lazy fault.) :o

Hi all, I'm bored too. I've got loads of housework to finish but am being lazy. Hubby is doing DIY outside and I'm sitting here with a laptop and cat squashed onto my lap feeling very idle. Still, I've got all the fruit for my Christmas cakes soaking in brandy in the kitchen and the house smells gorgeous... who needs to know it hasn't been hoovered yet?

Afternoon all! Its bitterly cold out. Been to the shops and been to the gym. Just relaxing now listening to the Killers before I go out for a chicken madras later :)

I really need to start on my Christmas shopping before long! :D
  • Thanks anniestar. I'm now settled with a cup of hot choccie. Had to get the housework done. My house was turning into a squat.

Hmmmm, sounds lovely. I just make do with my plug in air freshener smelling of mulled wine. Not quite the same though..........

You have my sympathy duncansmum, I hate hoovering the stairs too. We have two flights, very steep with narrow treads, and it's hard to do without the hoover taking a tumble.

My husband did the hoovering this morning - hoorah! - and now he's gone shopping. Budgetting has provided an outlet for his competitive side, he's determined to prove he can get a week's shopping more cheaply than I did.

Meanwhile I'm doing some freelance proofreading (but keep getting distracted as you can see) while the children are making christmas cards.

As a soundtrack we have a Johnny Cash CD playing (it came free with the paper) and I particularly like the DFW anthem Mean Eyed Cat, it begins:

I gave my woman half my money at the general store
I said, "Now buy a little groceries, and don't spend no more."
Then she paid ten dollars for a ten cent hat
And bought some store-bought cat food for a mean eyed cat.
