How do I wipe my iphone?

I have bought an Iphone 4 and need to sell my old 3gs 32gb version.

Before I sell it I need to do a few things.

I need to take the pictures off as I did not copy them all over to my laptop. Both the old and the new iphone synch to the same laptop, if I synch it first it seems pointless as it will just copy all my uptodate info and apps across when all I want are the photos.

When the phone is wiped can someone manage to undelete all the items and get them back?

Do I need to unauthorise the old phone?

Not really, if you do a factory reset of your iPhone, then the data will be lost and all the setting restored to the defaults (see the manual). On iTunes, unauthorise your old handset as you cannot do this easily following a reset.

sync with lappy to transfer all piccies etc in to itunes,you can then do a restore in itunes and it will load software back on again,if you do not restore from backup it will not load stuff from itunes back on again.

or after sync go to settings,reset and then erase all content and settings phone will be wiped and will show connect to itunes screen.
