We got given a huge amount of plants, blue and yellow irises, ferns, bog plants for the shallow end, water lillies, bull rushes, aerating plants, marsh mallows, mints - it very quickly grows. The very first year we had a lot of frog spawn the shallow end and OH broke off a willow twig and stuck it next to the pond to give the spawn shade as we had no plants at that time. That twig is now a 20 ft weeping willow! Bit of a pain really, but reluctant to cut it right down as it does do a job. Wait til you see the dragon flies circling round the water, its wonderful.0
