SIM only BlackBerry contract - what MB usage?

My contract with Orange for my BlackBerry expires in May and I'm looking round for a deal that beats my current one.
I'm looking at the Vodaphone website at the mo and it has 2 deals for a year long contract, the only difference being is the MB amount for mobile internet. This might sound thick but can anyone tell me what I get for 500mb or 1024mb? What I mean is, how many times can I use the internet on my blackberry before 500mb is used up? I don't have a clue!
BTW - I have looked at my Orange account online but it doesn't state the MB usage I currently have, will have to dig out the paperwork.

500mb is plenty for a Blackberry. I've had Blackberrys for over 3 years and I have never gone over my allowance bearing in mind the Blackberry is connected to the internet 24/7/365.0
