Wondering if someone can help.
Wife went shopping yesterday in a retail park close to her parents.
When she came out she found a ticket that stated:
Your vehicle was parked for longer than the maximum period allowed.
It also has a time box stating: from xxx to xxx
However she was not there for that period of time. She had arrived earlier and left earlier.
She then went back to her parents with goods purchased.
She then took one item back to one of the shops later.
So she may have fallen foul of the "no return" timescale.
My questions are:
1) Are these tickets legally enforceable?
2) If they are not why are they still allowed to issue them?
3) Is the ticket valid as it seems to have been issued for the wrong reason.
4) Should we write to clarify the reason the ticket was issued?
5) My wife is worried about ignoring the ticket and would be more inclined to write reminding them they have no legal powers to enforce it (if that is the case)
Thanks in advance for any help or guidance.

Just ignore them, the invoices are not enforceable at all, they are just a lousy ppc trying to scam you into paying them!Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?0 -
Read several of the PPC threads. Gain confidence and totally ignore this and future letters as if it was junk mail.:)0

Thanks for the quick responses

I have been speed reading just now.
It's just that the wife gets scared easy, and when she sees bailiffs mentioned she gets worried.
Have they ever turned up? Or is that a scenario that cannot happen?0 -
Euro admitted to the Sunday Times about 5 or 6 weeks ago that they have never ever taken anyone to court, and they don't have any plans in future to do so, the reason is that it's not financially worth the effort, basically it means that there are easier mugs out there to pay !Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?

Bailiffs just can't "turn up", the law doesn't work that way. Before this can happen, the case has to go to court, the person loses and then they don't pay whatever the judge orders within 28 days. You might be thinking of debt collectors who are just private citizens with no special powers. In the very remote chance that they come to the door then tell them to "go away", or you will call the police.needtechelp wrote: »Thanks for the quick responses

Answers:
1] No.
2] Because the "authorities" are not interested.
3] See [1]
4] Definitely not.
5] They already know it is not enforceable. Writing to them only makes them think you are a worrier who may pay up with a bit more pressure.
Ignore them.0 -
I think post 5 in this pepipoo thread, has links to the Sunday Times Article:

So to quote the newspaperLes Knight, New business director of Euro Car Parks, a private parking firm, admits it has not taken legal action against any non-paying drivers, and that any future action is unlikely because of the legal uncertaintyExcel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. Do write a lovely letter to all the managers of the retail units on the retail park by saying if that is how they treat paying customers you shall not be shopping there again.
As for Euro, I've heard the invoices burn well0 -
The basic advice is just ignore any PPC.
We had a piece of paper stuck behind our wiper by Euro Car Parks back in December 2010, we duly ignored it and have heard absolutely nothing from them since, no follow up letters or nothing...
They have more chance of getting blood from a stone first...ORIGINAL MORTGAGE AMOUNT £106,454.00 (Started Sept 2007)
