    I'm so sorry.

I know this won't help now, but instead of wondering where he is, and always watching-you can grieve properly.

My cat was killed this week-I found him beside the road, and although i'm broken hearted-I'm not always looking out of the window, wondering if he's in pain, or shut in somewhere, wanting me.

Buddy came back to where he was most loved, to you.

I probably haven't helped very much but please accept my thoughts and sympathies.

    Sazzy x

So sorry for your loss,Wilykit,Dundee doll, and now Sazzybum.Cats are so vulnerable, more so than dogs as you can't keep an eye on them all the time like you can a dog.

Hope these poems help with your grief. They were all much loved cats, take heart that so many don't have loving owners like you.

    Four Feet in Heaven

Your favorite chair is vacant now...
No eager purrs to greet me.
No softly padded paws to run
    Ecstatically to meet me.
No coaxing rubs, no plaintive cry
Will say it's time for feeding.
I've put away your bowl, and all
    The things you won't be needing;
But I will miss you little friend,
    For I could never measure
    The happiness you brought me,
    The comfort and the pleasure.
And since God put you here to share
    In earthly joy and sorrow;
I'm sure there'll be a place for you
    In Heaven's bright tomorrow...

    Cat Poem

    They will not go quietly,
the cats who've shared our lives.
In suptle ways they let us know
    their spirit still survives.
Old habits still make us think
we hear a meow at the door.
Or step back when we drop
a tasty morsel on the floor.
Our feet still go around the place
the food dish used to be,
And, sometimes, coming home at night,
    we miss them terribly.
And although time may bring new friends
and a new food dish to fill,
That one place in our hearts
belongs to them. . . and always will.
  • I'm very sad for everyone who's lost a much loved pet. It's very hard when it comes out of the blue in an accident, from bitter experience. You are trying to deal with your grief and your 'what ifs' and you are suffering from shock. I hope that everyone who's grieving finds some small glimmer of hope in their darkest moments - please know nothing can take away the wonderful time you spent together and the love you shared, keep that special feeling in your heart as you remember your beloved pet.

I know I keep saying thanks, but I mean it and I appreciate all your kind replies. He is buried in the garden - his favourite place for the past few weeks. I'm just so grateful he struggled to make it home as now I won't wonder where he is. It is weird though, I still keep waiting for him to come through the kitchen window when I open it - he used it as his own litlte cat flap :) and I keep thinking that I will have to top up his food and water etc. Its hard to get used to :(
The more one gets to know of men, the more one values dogs.
