travelling to shepherds bush ...help !!

Having lived in Shepherd's Bush near the QPR stadium for thirty years and having endured the traffic and lack of parking every match day I can tell you that it's safe to park...if you can get a space!
You'll need to be in the area by 1pm to be able to park reasonably close...good luck!
I now live in Ruislip (loads of parking) and that would have been a very easy, quick journey into Shepherd's Bush if the Central line had been running.0 -
an alternative going from that part of london and easy access off the a40and easy parking is hillingdon and ickenham stations ...piccadily line to hammersmith and then just under a mile and a half walk.
i'd be very very tempted to just drive0 -
actually guys its a concert at bush hall on uxbridge rd we're going to.
Does that area change anything ?
Wanted to be there about 6pm and guess we'll be leaving about 11pm.0 -
the location is still very, very close to qpr's ground so those details still stand....the parking though will be far easier than a match day. even more reason to drive to the venue.
i think someone has already posted this but M1 , then north circular from staples corner to ealing common then turn left onto the uxbridge road ..go through acton into shepherds bush..uxbridge road all the way. if you are going to stop for a bite to eat before the gig it might be worth stopping off on route and letting more of the traffic die down rather than get there and have a bite to eat.0 -
Hello
Live in Shepherds Bush too. The journey is really quite simple from the M1 as it's A406, A40, local roads. Make sure you have a map to take with you though, just in case, especially as you haven't been before.
Parking is free in most places in Shepherds Bush on a Saturday. Look here for a map of the parking zones. Bush Hall is basically where it says J for zone J. Most roads are signposted "Permit holders or ticket holders". You don't need a ticket on Saturdays but check the nearest machine/signs to be sure. You can get a place in most places... but you might have to drive around a bit. And stick in the pink zones coz the green ones charge on Saturdays.
There's an NCP carpark just off Shepherds Bush Green if worst comes to worst.
Safety wise I guess it's the same as anywhere else and if it's going to be, it's going to be.
Oh and if you feel so inclined the MSE offices are somewhere around here... so you could go and stalk Martin!! :rotfl:0 -
We ( QPR ) are at home this saturday so expect traffic to be pretty heavy after final whistle ( 5pm ish depending on the ref! ) so maybe - if you're still driving straight there - get to the area before then.
It's not the sheer volume of cars but the bus-lanes, forcing all cars into one lane that causes the big traffic along the Uxbridge Rd.

Tried to find the mse towers address before i left home but couldn't find it .. did see a mention of Rockley Rd ? ... had a wander down there .. couldn't see anything.
frequented the starbucks on the shep bush common.. next to tube station.
Can't remember whether that was the one martin has mentioned he uses.0 -
