State owned RBS pushing customers around

Oh yes the accounts are being sold to Santander also, sadly. There is a special telephone number on which you can ring RBS to ask for a form to fill in to remain with RBS after the sale - basically it means you are asking RBS to close your English accounts and open new accounts for you at a Scottish branch. Many people, myself included, decided to do this for ourselves well before any sale takes place. My RBS accounts are now safely held at a Scottish branch where Satander cannot get their paws on them!:T
I stand corrected. Thanks0 -

same here
they told me on phone that they will rebrand all of them as Santander LOL (i thought we had enough of their branches as it stands - e.g there would now be 5 santander branches in birmingham city centre if sale goes through)
Also moved my account to scottish but they said they hopefully open a rbs with branch access in england soon0 -
As Santander are already a HUGE bank, how does RBS/NatWest branches being sold to them increase competition?0

It was an EU condition imposed as a result of them receiving Government aid. Lloyds TSB have to get rid of lots of branches for the same reason.0
