I know what you mean. One of our cars is group 19/20 depending on which co you speak to. We are 30 and 35 and hubby has full NCB. A couple of co's wouldn't even quote for it. The highest quote I got was just over £900 but in the end we got it for just over £400. Its cheaper this year than it was last year and I've made a claim too.:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -
just searching for a renewal for my car, i find the best way is to go via quidco and even if my current provider lloyds comes out cheapest then i take a new policy which then quidco pays out £120 at the moment. My Shop Is Your Shop0

I had a Group 16 at 20 which was a pain to insure, but I still find that a lot of companies won't quote on the current car and I'm getting old...
The highest quote I got last year was £1,600 (with 5 years NCB), and I eventually got it down to £650ish. I'm hoping to get insured for less than £500 this year (challenge set)

That crossed my mind too, but guess who was quoting almost the most expensive for me last year?? Yep, Lloyds.
I'm currently with Privilege as they beat my renewal (and some) this time last year.
The initial question was kind of on behalf of my wife, but believe it or not, her current insurers (Churchill) have beaten everyone that I could speak to, and then on top of that, she's even been given a discount because of her employer!
Oh well, mine's due shortly...0 -
Me and oh have just bought a Mazda MX5 as a bit of a "plaything". I have insured it as a 2nd car with no no claims bonus for £189 fully comp:j . As my house insurance is also due I got the company to quote me on that and they beat the best quote by £30 and also promised to discount next years MX5 insurance by a further £20.
They are also keen to quote me when my main car insurance comes up and I have read plenty of positive feedback about them.
The company is A Plan insurance and tel no is 01635 874646 and ask for Matthew0 -
Hollie, that sounds good. Funnily enough, my brother's insured his Elise with A Plan recently and had nothing but praise for them. He's never claimed (and hopefully never will), so can't comment on that side of things, but he was very happy with the initial side of things.0
