That's what I do! Batch cook stuff - chilli, shepherds pies, soups etc and get it out the night before/in the morning to thaw.

I live on my own and I batch cook too. It's a lot easier to make a big load of something and then freeze it in individual portions ready to eat at later time. I love cooking but there are days when I really can't be bothered so I use one of my home made ready meals
Once you get in the habit of batch cooking it gets very easy

Hi Dreamer,
As others have said batch cooking is the way to go so that you have a stock of 'ready meals' in the freezer that you can lift out in the morning and reheat when you get home from work.

Yes, the above threads are a great resource for us "singletons". They should contain many of my recipes, which I usually scale down to individual, 2 or 3 servings, and can be frozen for later. The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life.0

Hello,
I work in a centre for single homeless people and am trying to put together some information for residents who move into self catering rooms. Many of these residents will not have had to cook for themselves for many years, if ever, so any hints and tips on eating on a budget or suitable recipes will be most appreciated. As benefits do not pay much at all bulk buying may not be possible and the freezers in the rooms are just box freezers so there will not be much room for freezing either. I realise these are unhelpfully specific criteria but any help would be appreciated.
Thank you.0 -

How about getting a slow cooker, you can cook nutritious meals easy, out of anything you have to hand.Liverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,
