Best place to sell phone
what are peoples opinions on the best place to get rid of a Moblie Phone.
I have a Nokia N8, which is no longer needed, only a few weeks old, and totally unlocked, was originally on network 3.
Now my daughter wants a new phone, she wants a blackberry. lol
So what i thought if i sold the N8, and got a blackberry with the proceeds, but just wondered is there a place that would do a deal with second hand phones/part exchange or something.
The reason i no longer need this phone is due to a vodafone resolution with my stolen iphone

What about computer exchange or whatever that chain is called, they may even have a BB there willing to do a straight swap0

CEX and ebay are the best places ebay you will get more money but CEX will give you the cash straightaway.0

CEX is a fast way, but they can be on the cheap side when buying (if you know what I mean). eBay is another option, and a good one as most will certainly pay over-the-odds for unlocked phones, so I could see your nearly new handset doing well. But that does depend on if you have faith in eBay and it's members.0

AVForums is good for selling/buying, but if you're a new user or someone with a low iTrader number, expect to be asked to send the phone to the buyer first before the buyer pays you for it.0

They were doing this on the Gadget Show last week.
My experience varies from phone to phone, but I tend to shop around and see if Ebay (after their exorbitant fees) or the recyclers give the best price.
As a buyer I'm wary of buying mobile phones that once came with a contract after getting stung on Ebay. Fortunately for me the seller reported it lost too soon and I got Paypal involved and my cash back.0 -

Well I have the reciept, the box, cables etc so more than enough proof that it isnt stolen, etc
Basically only getting rid, cause i have had iphone replaced, just looking at best way to get rid, either for cash, or to do a part ex as looking for blackberry for daughter.Awaiting Inspiration......................0 -

I wasn't suggesting yours was, just that with Ebay there is always a risk. Receipts etc go a long way to making people feel secure - especially with payg phones.
The person Ihad problems with had a highish feedback from selling small items on Ebay and obviously didn't understand that reporting a phone lost would cause it to be barred. Now I would look for someone who had maybe sold more high value items or had a better feedback profile, or who was selling a phone that hadn't been linked to a contract (payg, sim free).
The last phone I bought on there had been won on the Pepsi challenge - I thought I was on safe ground with that one - and I was - 18 months of problem free use until I sold it
Good luck selling your phone - if it's newish and with all the boxes/paperwork then Ebay/Cex would probably be a better bet than the recyclers. I was amazed earlier in the week looking in the Cex window at the prices they charge for used handsets - I know they have healthy margins included in this but that still points to a good deal for the seller0
