because people are lazy and never think to switch. Switch as much as you can I think and always get the best deal - not nessecarily the best price - but the best deal.

Hi
Take MillicentBystander's advise and ignore or laugh. Some comments on this part of the forum are laughable, odd and weird.
Re switching. Agree if it's cheaper but for me npower always comes up the cheapest even when they increase their prices.Sealed Pot Challenge No 089-Finally got a signature.:rotfl::j0 -

Stepm - I read your post with interst as my fixed rate with EDF expires at the end of March. The biggest reason I signed up to it was to get the nectar points but now they have stopped that and britsh gas are offering NP to switch! I have never had a positive view of BG but am going to consider them when I compare companies. We have been enjoying the low rates as well and feel good that there are people who won't just settle for the easiest option - this is how corporates get into such positions of power - because people are lazy and never think to switch. Switch as much as you can I think and always get the best deal - not nessecarily the best price - but the best deal.0 -
As a matter of interest, just how much were those Nectar points worth? No free lunch, and no free laptop0

I'm also on the online saver v6 tariff and I had my letter yesterday. It isn't very clear and I'm confused about the increases and new pricing. I called and asked about moving to a different tariff with EDF but they said I would have to pay the exit fee, even though I would still be with EDF. They also sent me my annual gas review bill and are increasing my gas direct debit as apparently my account should be at zero now?! No idea why, I joined EDF in October, why should my account be at zero in February?
I should call again and get an operator who has understood their briefings.
This is the opposite to which I was told (but I am in credit)
you should be able to negotiate your monthly DD.0 -

I think I will call again, though it took me long enough to get through the first time round!
I'm also in credit (by £4.00!) and I think my direct debit covers my useage very well, I don't mind it going up, at least I'll have alot of credit for winter!:heart2: Newborn Thread Member :heart2:

Yes it's a massive increase, but even with this increase it still comes in at no. 3 out of 82 for me, and the no. 1 is only a £17 saving! (on energyhelpline). It was an excellent value tariff so it's not surprising it increased by much more than average.0

I'm on v6 as well, do you know if all the comparsion web-sites are now up to date?0
