If you have a weight or time which you think is likely to raise a query, repeat it in the comments along with any additional details you can think of. Then you might be lucky and they might not need to email you about it after.

Times I explain as a given with gap, anything for an easier life later, lol.

But given that the cups are a specific size in fluid weight (I know it in fl oz) and I find that usually weights are within what I would see as a reasonable fraction of that (albeit converted to the units they want it in) and all the weights have been very similar - any anomalous ones I do comment on.

As for the temp's issue - when my work place is in its 'close down' phase I quite often ask for my shifts to be moved to a catering venue within the company where there's a coffee bar (not one of the chains so never going to get ms'd thankfully) so am fully trained as a Barista but work there so infrequently I'm more of a nuisance when there are customers - so again I know the temp ranges allowed/deemed safe. As well as the weight variation caused by over heating/frothing milk for each drink type.

But despite explaining anomalous results I still get asked to clarify even the ones which are 'normal' range. Meh tis the perils of the job I guess but it is annoying when I come off an 14 hour shift (and its always when I work double shifts they do it) to find a query with a 12 hour deadline sent 15 hours ago.

It would appear it is national 'silly proofreading questions' day.

My original description - Female - 5'7" - short (to ears) brown naturally curly hair - black rimmed glasses

Query - Can you advise the length and style of the assistant hair and whether or not they were wearing glasses.

I have responded stating 'please re-read the original response'. I have also emailed the individual on the briefing notes as well. They are either on commission, targeted or blatantly extracting the urine.

Q: Do you ever play the gaming machines?
A: No, I never play these machines.

A quick wwyd for more experienced shoppers, I think I already know what I am going to do, but just wanted some other opinions. I am due to do a bookies for RE tomorrow, my eldest daughter is off school today as she was sick in the early hours of this morning.

The only date that the bookies can be visited is tomorrow. So do I leave it, she only been sick once, and not since then so if she is back at school tomorrow and I can carry it out as planned, but if she is sick again today she won't be able to go to school tomorrow because of the 24 hour thing, or one of the other kids or even me could be ill then. Then I would have to cancel at the last minute, leaving them to find someone else to cover the job at the last minute.

Or let them know today and cancel it now just in case, leaving them with 24 hours to find someone to cover.

I really wouldn't worry about them finding someone at short notice - it is likely they will be able to. If you release it you will lose two points but I''ve never worked out exactly what they are for anyway.

Bleugh, I'm sick and tired of the same stupid market research questions every job. "Do you usually play the gaming machines?", "Where do you normally place bets?" "Why?" blah blah blah. The sandwich jobs are just as bad...

What you probably should do: Cancel it now so they have more time to cover - the loss of 2 points is meaningless

What I'd be tempted to to: Leave it until tomorrow to see how your daughter is. RE have a squillian shoppers clamouring for jobs so they should have no problems filling it. Plus you still only lost the same meaningless 2 points you would have lost cancelling today.

Unless, you have cancelled loads before, in which case, have I heard somewhere that someone got busted down to probationary?

Jobs often have hidden leeway built in, so just call them and ask if you can reschedule.
  • Is it my computer or does everyone have this:

When entering Helion reports the typing takes ages and ages to catch up on screen. This is really annoying as I am an 80wpm typist and like to see my typing appear on screen as I go. Unfortunately it disuades me from typing in long comments as the catch up time is really annoying and then if you've made a typo, which doesn't show up for a minute later, you have to go back and change it, which takes forever all over again.

I've never come across this with entering reports for any other company, only Helion. Am I alone in this or do others have the same problem?

Max, if it's not me, can it be fixed?

    What browser do you use?

It does that to me in Internet Explorer but works fine in Chrome.

I'm a fast touch typist too and it confuses me when the words don't appear on screen as fast as my hands are working!
Here I go again on my own....
