What are you having problems with, the actual taking of a screen shot, or what to do with it after?

"Ctrl"+"PrtScr" then open up paint or similar and then "Ctrl"+"V" will paste it.

Thanks you very much. I did that as a back-up, but I thought there was another way that I should have known which was 'more technical'!!

It's been nearly a week since I started signing up to MS companies, and I thought I'd give some feedback, in case any other newbies are interested. I applied for 11 or 12 companies, and all the ones I completed applications for have accepted me, except TNS, who I'm yet to hear back from since doing the mock mystery shop.

I did my first shop on my lunch break last Wednesday, for RE. I was pretty nervous about remembering everything, but it wasn't as complex as some of the online training programmes for various companies had made it seem - didn't need loads of different timings or anything. I submitted my report straight away, and haven't heard anything back from them. I assume this means everything was okay (how long is it before you hear if there's a problem/enquiry?) - my score has gone from 0 to 12 today, and there are a couple more assignments available now. I've signed up to do another one with them. It doesn't pay, but the reimbursement will cover a lovely meal out somewhere I can't usually afford, which I'm looking forward to! :)

I did another lunchbreak one for Retail Maxim on Friday, and the report was collected by phone today. I don't think RM give you any feedback, so I suppose I'll just have to wait and see whether they offer me any more assignments. I prefer the companies that list them online, than RM's system of texting/emailing, because there's less time to consider it when you have to phone to get the details.

There's quite a few jobs available in my region across the various companies, but I'm not willing to travel very far, as the pay generally doesn't seem worth it (plus I work fulltime, so don't have lots of free time). I'm amazed that people do this for a living! I just hope for a few cheap treats, and a little extra for my savings. I find it quite nerve-wracking, although feel more relaxed with it now I've done a couple. I thought the first one I did, I might have given it away a bit at the end by asking for a receipt and then where the toilet was - when I came out of the toilet, I got a very enthusiastic farewell which wasn't in keeping with the rest of the visit! I'm fairly certain my second one was suspicion-free.

I'm hoping that it gets easier to keep in mind all the things you have to notice, the more you do of this, as they are all looking for generally the same things. Can anyone reassure me on this point?! Also, are the Gyp assignments with multiple timings really as difficult as they seem?
  • It does get easier as you get more confidence. Now I feel weird when I go into a store and don't have to take note of anything lol. Well done for taking the jump into the MS world, and best of luck!

    Hi all

I completed my first ever assignment for Gapbuster today. It was a burger shop. Unfortunately I've messed up. I collected all the information exactly as asked and printed out the questions before I went. However, I've now logged on to upload the info and it appears that I need a WebExpress Code that was on a part of the instructions that I haven't printed out.

    What can I do?

I've emailed them through the enquiry bit to explain what's happened. Are these codes unique to the job? Can anyone else help me with it or do I chalk this one up to experience?

    So cross with myself.

    Hi again

It's all sorted. I had two email responses back to my emails to Gapbusters - one was stern, don't do it again type thing and the other was really friendly. I've just uploaded my shop and it seems to have gone through ok.

Thanks to everyone who helped yesterday.

I've got a job in a town North of me tomorrow and I had been hoping a couple more would crop up. Instead I've been offered one with a town South of me and one with a town South East of me. Just my luck. It's quite hard sometimes to guess where else something will crop up with a different company. Does it get easier with time?

If they let you access the notes the day you do the shop then they wouldn't have the problem, now would they?!

Can you tell this happened to me too? :rotfl:

Think I must have had my MYSTERIOUS SHOPPER sash on today. Did a carpet shop thing for RM and the assistant said and did everything she should have done! Then the assistant at the phone shop with GFK ticked all the boxes, as did the man shop with REACT's member of staff, and even the assistant at the health food shop with RE. Bloody hell. Top marks to all.

The doughtnuts that RE do are opening a shop in Leeds and they were handing out a boxes 12 FREE doughnuts to all and sundry in Leeds City Centre. Woohoo!
