Does it take long to be verifer by gapbuster. I have been waiting three days now.0

Hello folks.
I'm after some help please. I've worked for one company since last July and my tax return is due. I have no idea what I'm doing. It's the first time I will have done one.
Can someone advise what forms I need to fill in, and what I need to work out - in idiots terms please
I earn about £21,500 in my full time day job and I've earned £1642.75 (minus expenses and mileage) from the MS company.
Thank you in advance anyone who has a minute to point me in the right direction

This post is full of pretty much everything you need to know about tax basics. Other than that this link - http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/sa/self-emp-part.htm (which is in that post) has everything else.
Since you've already worked out your profit then all you need to do is fill in your tax return! You can register to do it online via http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/sa/file-online.htm which I think is the easiest way.0 -

I emailed tham about that yesterday, as I had been waiting since Friday. They emailed back to say it took 72 hours, and sure enough yesterday evening I was able to access available jobs.0 -
Gap's right and left hands do not connect anywhere in Gap's brain!
They phoned me last night, about an urgent one to be done last night (with not a lot of time to faff about, I can tell you).
Did I need to go alone? The initial response was, "yes," followed by, "you can take someone else with you if you like."
I said could they please email me to confirm that it could be an accompanied visit ...... I'm still waiting for the email, even though the job is done and dusted.
They will receive an MP3 recording of (most of) the allocation telephone call if they refuse to pay me for that one!:rotfl:0 -

If you've informed HMRC that you're self-employed (which you should have done when you started mystery shopping) they'll have sent you a letter with a paper tax return and instructions on how to do it online. If you haven't told them you're self-employed they won't know to send you a tax return, so I guess you'll have to ring them.
The good news is that a tax return is actually easy to fill in. You just need to know how much you made, and your expenses, plus how much you made from your actual job and how much tax your paid, and how much you got in interest on any savings.0 -
Has anyone heard about the RA holiday visits yet?0
-
If it is for work you've done since July 2010 you don't need to submit your tax return until October if you do a paper form or January if you submit it online.
I will do mine soon but only because I do other work as well where I've overpaid tax and would like it back again0 -

No, I haven't heard about the holiday or the spa day. We’ve had to remove your signature. Please check the Forum Rules if you’re unsure why it’s been removed and, if still unsure, email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
That's normal for things to go pear shaped!
I would answer yes to the objectives as you have attempted to do everything you were told to do, and it's not your fault that stock hasn't arrived, Manager won't let you, etc.
Today I've been changing header boards and the planogram on a previously set up hot spot, but one store never got the original hot spot and have different products in that space.
Last week was a disaster where I was sent to 35 different stores with a FSDU for beer. Not got the stats to hand, but I think I only assembled about 6  Most of the stores were tiny with no room at all to put one up so I was either refused, or they said they would put it to one side and let the manager decide, and a few were in a rough area where all the alcohol is kept behind the counter so obviously they wouldn't let me put it on the shop floor.
Did a computer game release where the stands were delayed in being delivered to me, and by the time I got them into stores, it was past the release date, so a lot of stores refused permission to site them.
I was sent into stores in low income areas for an expensive juice drink, which just wouldn't sell as local people simply can't afford it, so the stores wouldn't order more in.
A hair dye FSDU, where they hadn't sent the stores all of the colours on my planogram, so I just had to improvise with the stock I had.
A series of DVD calls where I kept reporting missing POS, but it never arrived in store.
It would be less interesting if everything always went to plan:D

Did 2 today and neither store had enough stock. Even worse, the REP checking to make sure they had been sited followed me round the stores so I ended up explaining the problems to him.
Thanks for your replies guys - I thought it was just me:p Its good to hear that others have problems too (in the nicest way of course!):rotfl:I guess the more you do, the more problems you can encounter. I just wondered if I should be doing something differently, or if "Problem Child" would be on the front of my file at the Merchandising companies LOL. It seems silly and pointless to me for companies to pay for me to go round to some supermarkets to take photos of someone elses work. But who am I to argue?:p
Hopefully, it'll get better with practise.0
