I started MS in February and remember there was something about a bonus for the burger shops, but nothing materialised in either my March or April (beg of May) payments.
Was just looking on my assignments and the amounts for February and March now include the bonus  although the amounts I have been paid definitely don't.
Anyone else got this? And does anyone more experienced know whether we'll get more in the end of May payment run?0 -
Generally a couple of days, although had an odd job thats taken 10 days. Not one of the heath food shops where you have to return the receipt is it?
No, it was a bookshop one. Had to scan in the receipt as normal but that was it. And if there had been a problem I would have expected my query by now. Hope it sorts itself out soon.0 -

Monitor someone for a week, and that will show you what they are really like.
However, thats known as stalking.sharpy2010 wrote: »I just think Mystery Shopping is not the best way to go about improving a company as I believe it to be sneaky. I wont continue to post on this topic as it is obvious we all have different opinions, which of course makes for the rich tapestry of life.
Hi all, Back and a bit pink but had a great jolly holiday.
Now, for my wounderful perspective.
I understand the point of a staff member having a bad day. But like previously stated, if this is an odd occurance it's going to be picked up by a manager.
One thing i have found is that i've gone to do a job and felt like they did well. But once completing the report found that actually they missed a great deal of information out.
This isn't because i felt they were bad, this is based on the fact they did not do what the company expected. The companies expectations and how they use the report have nothing to do with us shoppers.
Some managers will be an !!! and use reports to punish staff. Others will use it to praise. I personally know very little about how my report is processed and how the information is used after I submit it.
As i explained to people. A mystery shoppers role is to get a snapshot of what 'normally' happens. I've had staff ignore me, give me very bad and wrong information and even been served off chicken. If this isn't reported by us then who do you think will give management a clear idea of what goes on?
On the flip side i enjoy the cinema jobs where i get to hand a bonus out if they meet the criteria. I have been known to 'spot' somebody that i feel looks 'nice' so i can give the bonus away and make somebodies night.
It may not be the best tool but mystery shoppers is one of many companies use and i believe that in the majority of cases provides valued and unbiased information. WHat is done with that information we cannot be responsible for.I get what i want. That isn't because i'm a brat or spoilt. It's because i'm determined, i work hard for it and i achieve my goals!0 -

Its simple you/the staff member are being paid to do a job, if you have problems outside of work, then you need to speak to your manager and discuss not going in or getting a less customer facing role, if at any point in the day you need to do the same, as they say the first customer should get the same experience as the first. When in the workplace you arent being paid to have problems, your being paid to be efficient and do what the employer stipulates. We are basically the eyes and ears of the businesses. If for example one of us has 'personal issues' and submitted a biased report we would get punished, at the end of the day you are being paid to provide good service and make the business more profitable, If your not doing that then I believe its fair for no bonuses to be paid out.0

I used to get a fair bit from them as well but now it's only one every 4/5 months.0 -

It sucks why the TNS fast supermarkers say you shouldn't apply if you have it done in the last 4 months. I mean, why not? This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

Suppose you might be recognised. But 4 months does feel quite a long interval (I have the same problem as I did a few of them in March so got a while to wait).
OTOH I do various burger jobs for Gap and appear in the same places much more often than once every 4 months.0 -

I agree and I feel there is a higher risk of staff being suspicious at burgers because you have to get a receipt which is strange.
With the supermarkets, you only come into contact with staff at checkout and act completely normal for only 10 seconds.
