I think google maps does an approximate petrol costing - nto sure how accurate it is though :D

Click on edit and you can put the correct fuel cost in but I don't know what mileage is uses for the calculations.

How much do you guys think a mile costs in petrol? What is the figure in your head?

I am trying to work out if a job is worth it.

My van costs about £0.16 in diesel so that before you factor in any other costs.
i caculated mine a few weeks ago at 13.9p mile. however that was the average over a few weeks and i had done quite a few long journeys so for shorter trips its prob higher.

I run a 1300 petrol van. My fuel cost is currently 17p/mile. I always know my rate per mile because I have not had a working fuel gauge since 2004, so I keep precise records of my mileage and refuelling details!

I have a list of places that I visit frequently/occasionally, showing the distances and parking costs. If I accept a manual allocation that does not cover my costs completely (e.g. because another MS company is already paying some or all of my expenses), I ensure that the allocator understands that the acceptance is a "one-off." I always quote the HMRC figure, and if pushed, I will mention that fuel alone costs me "almost 20p per mile."

Don't forget that you also need to factor-in your travelling time for jobs: I say that there is no point spending three hours in the car when I could have earned the same amount of money (or more) doing a few lower-paid jobs closer to home. My time expenditure (including report submission) is always a consideration.

I have just done a job for Gap at a mobile phone shop. The instructions say no purchase required. I submitted my report within the hour. I have now recieved an email asking me to upload my receipt as requested ????? I do not have a receipt as no purchase was required.
They state that if I do not upload receipt that my payment will be cancelled. I have emailed them via their site.
    Have I done something wrong.
Hi, sorry for the late reply but sometimes they don't give me a business card in the phone shop so I just write on a piece of paper 'No business card given' and upload a photo of it. It has never been queried.:)

The notes specify Business Card or catalogue. I think they've probably stopped the individual store 'cards' as I haven't seen them for a long time (not that I do them very frequently), but there are usually catalogues available.

i normally just say, do you have a number i can ring to check its in stock if i come back tomorrow. i then either get given a card, brochure or scabby receipt with details on. usually means you get given their name as well so its better for the report (in some shops it is amazing how many f, 25, long brown hair, 5'8, no glasses girls there are :p )

Anyone see TG's duplicate posting on the Alerts thread!?!?!?

She needs to practise what she preaches over and over again or are we allowed to make a mistake every now and then?

perhaps they have only just shwn up in tg's area hence a new alert?

there was an alert about smelly shops yest afternoon, i didnt see any till 7 am this morning, then could see east anglia and east midlands. didnt post an alert for the reason you have just complained about. however if i hadnt checked it this morning i would not know they were on there. if someone had posted a new alert this am then i might have got my local store before someone else took it! :(
