Personally I wouldn't do a competitor egg shop unless it was officially confirmed that the value of all returned items would be given to the competitor shops afterwards at the very least, this way they could still do the shops without the companies knowing that the visits will take place and the competitors haven't unfairly lost out. Although they are only small amounts it will add up if they are doing the visits across the country and no matter how small fraud is fraud.

Its a software programme some companies use that you can enter your reports through. For those that use it, you will have to sign up to each one individually.

    Hi and welcome

Unfortunately you have to sign up separately to each company which use Sassie. It is a system used by a number of mystery shopping companies and works the same way with them all although some don't use the scoring feature of it.

I know a lot of people have said it already, but just to add my best wishes to you Sarah!! I remember reading several incidents over the last few months with you, so am so pleased for you. :)

And oooh, I've just seen a job for the shop where I work as we are having a pharmacy competitor visit on ESA!!!
Hope I don't have to serve them so I don't have to try and keep a straight face! At least if I fluff up, it's not going to matter as isn't my company assessing me!!! :D

Yes, Jen, fair enough for a normal Egg shop, but what people are getting at, is that these are COMPETITORS stores. Fair enough, if the Egg Stores want us to damage an item and take it back, its their loss, but is it really fair to wilfully destroy food items from competitors and then ask for a refund? I dont think so which is why I have cancelled the job I had accepted.

    Egg-zactly !

However we have all agreed to client confidentiality clauses so -it's either not accept them/release them -and tell ESA *why* or just say nothing. To be honest though if you try and tell the competitor stores they could very well think you are some kind of a nut with delusions :rotfl:
I'm quite disappointed in the egg stores doing this though as I've always regarded them as one of the more ethical retailers. However just because THEY are doing something I don't regard as ethical isn't for me a good reason to breech an agreement I've signed . I have other choices-stop shopping for ESA, stop taking assignments for the egg company, continue with them but not take jobs I consider to be unethical etc. No-one in their right mind would consider this wave of shops a good idea but just because ESA are doing something I regard as unacceptable-for me- that isn't a good enough reason to flout an agreement I've signed-two wrongs don't make a right.

I know confidentiality etc etc, however given that the cretins at ESA don't seem bothered about it maybe those who are concerned should take it up with the client personally. It's the only thing I can think of.

However BEWARE if the product return comes out of the scenario the fee will definitely drop. ESA have already shown their true colours on this front!

have to admit i am doing some as need the cash!

totally agree with comments re the ethics of the company though as they seem to make a big deal out of being fair to everyone, not misleading anyone etc... (you should read some of the stuff they admit to on their food labels that they dont actually need to put on there)

did the bank job today and got given a leaflet. i read the leaflet as i am thinking of switching my account anyway and they had a whole page on the ethics of the co!

I haven't applied for any of these. I am "boycotting" ESA because of fee cuts.

I agree, wholeheartedly, that a product complaint should not financially disadvantage the competitor, or cause the competitor any concern about the quality of goods from their suppliers.

If I was doing one of these jobs, I would buy a bottle of own brand water. I would return saying that I could not open the bottle. Sorted! Either the bottle gets opened for me by the CSA or the CSA swaps it for another bottle. What's the problem with this? Any unopened bottle could go back on the shelf. If purchased by someone other than a geriatric 8 stone weakling, the product is saleable.
