What are your opinion on these dolls? i have seen videos on YT where people take them out into Mothercare etc and feed them etc i find it all a bit odd slightly disturbing. Some of the people who film these activities are young couples anyway i find it weird what's your opinion?

It depends on the person. Personally I would consider that people with an over attachment to a doll of this nature are probably candidates for therapy and should be encouraged to seek help rather than project whatever emotional issues they have onto an object such as this, but I can also appreciate that for some it is just something to collect, or perhaps a "game" or flashback to their childhood. People who "feed" and look after their doll and treat it as though it were real are not healthy in my opinion but there are so many facets of humanity and so many behaviours that I consider bizarre that maybe I'm wrong.0

Bit weird but each to their own. So long as it doesn't harm anyone else then I can't see a huge problem. I suppose you could even get a doll-maker to fix one up like your own kid for a rather unusual memento! Bit less portable than a simple photo though. lol0

Hmm, I hope you mean she told the grandchild she had a doll that looked like a baby? So long as she knows it's just a doll and treats it as such, surely her son finds it no more distressing than all the embarrassing baby photos that "kind" parents save up to show future children-in-law and/or grandchildren?0 -
i think they're creepy-looking things, because they are frozen into one expression (real babies are not like that).0

I had to google this, having never heard of it before.
I feel really sorry for people who have one made after suffering miscarriage/baby loss. I know we all have different ways of coping with grief, but it doesn't seem healthy to me.

I think they are creepy. I wouldn't have a problem if people just want them as sort of ornament things (even though I don't understand why they would) but treating them like they are alive is just creepy.:happylove DD July 2011:happyloveAug 13 [STRIKE]£4235.19[/STRIKE] £2550.00 :cool:0
