Pay-as-you go Sim Help??

Hello,

Have had a contracts phone for ever but now want to rid of it(Amounting bills, & dont want a contract). Want to go pay-as-you go but dont know whats the best sim network and wheres cheapest to place to buy it. Dont undestand the difference between o2 & o2gennie, & T-mobile & bolt ons etc. Is their anybody here who understands pay as you go networks and can suggest what i should go for and how i can buy one(i have a phone already).

Basically i want to send at least 5txts a day and make a couple of calls to other mobiles. Dont care what network, just want the cheapest package possibile be it woth bolt ons or round the clock(jargon i dont understand). Any help here would be great. We have a o2 gennie sim card in the house with 300free texts a month....is that good. Can you add bolt ons to that?

I have o2 pay as you go, for £10 a Month I get 300 free txts n the added bolt on bonuses get me 30 minutes free calls to o2 and landlines.

As It is, my credit merely tops up every month by £10 and I am currenty at £47 credit, with 300 txts and13 minutes free calls. Mainly because I rarely if ever get to the stage where im using my credit. the bolt ons see to that for me.

In past ive had a few contracts all on Pay as you go, Orange, Vodaphone and Btcellnet. but I have stuck with o2 since, as it works out the cheapest and most cost effective way for a Pay as you go service. Im no techie on the subject, but I highly reccommend o2 for pay as you go, they are by far the best deal on the market.

me too i agree with marley boy i used to have A £25 contract went to o2 payg, top up each month and your credit just keeps going up, i never seem to use it or if i do its not much

Virgin do 10p texts (3p to other virgins)
15 per min to other networks for first 5 mins each day then 5p after that.(3p per min to other virgins)
free voicemail
you can also buy text or call bundles to reduce this further.
Sim is free right now with £5 free credit if you register with them.

I have an orange pay as you go sim. My deal (which was an offer) is £10/month minimum and then 500 txt and 600mins OnNet offpeak calls (7pm-12midnight) per month. Pretty good.

Check out Tesco Value Mobile - their texts are 5p and calls are 15p per min to any UK mobile or landline.

You decide whether to have 3p texts and 20p calls any net,or
12p calls any net and 10p texts.


Or do what somebody i know does, use 2 different sims.:D

This is not strictly true. Calls to virgin mobiles and landlines are 15p/min for first 5 mins and 5p after. BUT until 31/03/07 calls to virgin mobiles are 3p

Calls to OTHER networks are 35p/min at all time

Thought that virgin tariff sounded too good to be true.

Not if you use a 0844/0871 gateway number from here
