If I cancel a contract and pay off the entire amount does it effect my credit?

    No - providing you pay off all amounts billed to your account within the specified time, it has no detrimental effect on your file - however if you go mack to the same operator, they may not be encouraged to take you on as a new connection (even when you paid to leave)!

    If I were an operator I'd welcome a customer that likes paying for the services that they don't receive actually.

    You might, but they are not profitable. They want customers who make lots of calls or take on needless bundles. Buying out the contract isn;t the licence to make money it once was, and whilst the network won't lose out, they'd prefer someone more profitable.

    Rubbish i have done this on o2 and vodafone several times over the past five years and never ever been refused new contracts ever.

    And i have had loads, can't speak for the other networks mind!
