It's OK, I went around with his permission. When he told me about the cooker I said that I would like to see it and he said "fine, come around", so I did (when he was there).
I said that I wanted to make sure that everything was installed directly so that I could get a good look at the serial number.
He really is quite blatant!0 -
For that reason alone I'd string him along mercilessly, giving every impression that you'll go along with it. You'll give him enough rope in about five minutes flat.
Meanwhile I'd be doing some deep research into this shyster's past to find out as much as I could, even if it cost me money. Just because0 -
Obviously you shouldn't cough up for the cooker, but your problem comes when he leaves and tries to take "his" cooker with him. Make sure you have the evidence that it belongs to you.
Have you asked him where the old cooker is? After all you could still get it repaired under warranty. Wherever he tells you it has gone, follow it up.0 -
Is this thread for real, always suspect when its an iffy original and first post - get my drift ?

a 2 month old cooker would be covered by a warranty.
So if he claims to have replaced it then it's his loss.
Put a request for his claim in writing to him and also include very clearly your emergency contact details in case he has mislaid them.0 -
Just noticed its a 5th post - apologies Brighton0
