If only those damn dual layer DVD-R's would come done in price.... like wise the price of any media about 8x speed makes the faster drives a bit irrelevant... still I could do with a drive on a nother PC so am tempted to buy this one too...

  • Think people are slower on the uptake of the dual layer media thanks to programmes like DVD Shrink.

I'm looking an an upgrade and a few dual layer disks jsut to back up my 18gb mp3 collection

I also need an upgrade as my drive has taken a hammering over the last 8 months or so!

  • So with that cheap one I can burn 4.9 gig DVD's only or can I burn more?

And would I need the lead..?

I currently have a bay free which is good.

As far as i'm aware MAC hardware is the same as PC hardware its normally just drivers that are different, DVD/CD drives tend to be found by the operating system and installed automaticaly, aslong as you have some uptodate CD/DVD burning software i belive it would be fine. Worst case is it dosn't and svp would refund.

This drive will burn Dual Layer Disks 9.8Gb of data, you may need a lead depnding on you system set up, if you have a IDE lead going to your current cd/dvd drive and it has a spare conection on it then you can connect to that remeber that one drive must be set to master and one to slave (theres jumpers to move on the back of the drive)
