Where do I stand? Virgin Media...

just checked my account online, I am paying >£57 for their Broadband L, Phone XL + caller display. Looking at there 'bundle' section this should be costing £36.54. So they've been ripping me off about £21 per month. (i could get the same services with their broadband XXL for cheaper than what I'm paying!) I've called them and been put onto the lower rate with no arguments at all. Thing is, I've no idea how long they've been ripping me off for and would like to know where I may stand in trying to recover any of this cash?
I've been a cable customer since they were cambridge cable, then ntl, and latterly Virgin. so I'm feeling mighty disappointed at the moment.
I'd change provider but cable is so much better
Thanks, in advance, for any advice...

Nobody has ripped you off.
Your were happy with the price were paying at the start of your contract, and now there is a better offer available which you have taken up.
That is all there is to it.0 -
Unfortunately the way VM operate you need to keep an eye on current pricing and what you are paying then call in if new customers are getting it cheaper (after the normal introductory offers of course). I'm fairly sure this is a device to keep people in minimum term contracts. They are not alone in not automatically reducing existing customer pricing when reducing the price for new ones.0

Think of it as the same as being on an old mobile tariff, it is up to you to contact them and ask to be moved to a new one.0 -
anotehr friend of mine now! when my other half called up to pay bill instead of me they told him he could pay but because of date protection they could not tell him how much he was paying . he still paid and i told him he was mad and should have called me first so YES THEY ARE CROOKS! Also i have been getting letters saying thanks for upgrading etc when we havent and getting wrong amounts on the bills!just checked my account online, I am paying >£57 for their Broadband L, Phone XL + caller display. Yeah I had a similar "data protection" reason given when I called them after 14 months of being a customer as I had noted the prices had gone down on the web and they happily put me on a lower price. I have to say I'm not so angry here, I've chalked this down to experience and lesson learned to call them every year to see what they can do in terms of keeping my price competititive. Not really sure it IS a data protection issue.. but does seem to be the standard line.0

You can get them to add your partner as a valid contact. My account is in my name only but I've had them add my wife so she can speak to them too if necessary. I did want them to change it to a joint named account but that seemed to be beyond either their or the computers ability.0
