Options
i was with them on £15 pm sim only for 600mins unlimted txt.
during this i tried out the iphone4 but returned it with in the 7 day returns policy.im sure they said they would not charge me for calls/txt/data before they sent out the iphone.so anyway im now with another provider alltogether & cancled voda so im guessing they must have charged me for using data as this was not in my orignal £15 sim only deal

If you are sure ask them for the transcript of the conversation.
I am not an expert, but I find it hard to believe that they are so generous to offer playing with iphone4 for 7 days without being charged for anything.
Their standard return policy says:...we will charge you for line rental, calls and any other usage (texts, data etc) during the time you were using the product up to the point of return.0 -
However, £85 for 7 days of mobile internet looks far too much as even "occasional internet users" get charged £1/100MB.
Having said that does the EU limit of €50 in a month not apply across the whole of the EU i.e. within the UK or does it only apply when you are not in you home country?IT Consultant in the utilities industry specialising in the retail electricity market.

It is a limit across all EU, BUT if you were roaming, then the charges would be fixed when NOT using your home newtwork.0

i done the same thing with 3 & took it back after 7days & didnt coast me a bean & i didnt even have a curent contract with them0

Keep us informed how it is going with all other operators.0

£85 doesn't sound right to me... that's rather alot....we will charge you for line rental, calls and any other usage (texts, data etc) during the time you were using the product up to the point of return.
Did you make any calls and texts (and use data) within those 7 days? Maybe that's what you're paying for, along with '7 days' line rental. I take it they charge you individually for any calls, texts and data used as if you were on a pay as you go phone (not classed as inclusive of line rental because you haven't kept the phone).0 -
before i took them up on the iphone offer i specifically asked them would i get charged for txt/calls/data as i was testing it side by side with an i phone from 3,they said if i returned it with in 7days there would be no charge, which tbh i would exspect to pay for what ever i used,i asked 3 the same Qs and returned it used (data mainly, few txt & few calls)& no charge from 3 at all..
when the voda iphone went live i lost my orignal voda network on my existing £15 pm (no contract & not payg) 600 mins, unlimted txt but no data so im guesing voda have charged me data usage only.i have not been in touch with voda as thought il just ask on here first to see if anyone had same exsperiance.yes i did use the voda to make calls/txt/data
like u guys have stated you pay for what you use thats fair enough but i wish voda would stop bullshipping when trying to flog you you a phone eg the guy in there sales team over the phone said it was "unlimted data, that meens no limits what soever"i asked him sevral times to make sure as i was new to smart phones & data use & said yep "unlimted" so said yep fine ill take the deal.so in the next phone call from the same salesmen he went thro it all & said ulimted data upto 500mb!! cut long story short i said i dont know if that would be enough but would give a go & if it looked like 500mb (which it didnt)wouldnt be enough i would return it with in the 7days,which is what i did..
the bottom line is im not going chasing the sun with voda, will just put it down to never totaly trust a phone salesperson & get it in writting first which is what i did with 30 -
update..
i recieved a txt from voda today saying view your new bill online ect..i though iv cancled over 1 month ago so how can i be billed..
so phoned them & glad i did as the my previuos £85 bill (high for me) was that high because when i sent the i4 back they forgot to reinverse me the £60 i paid for it upfront! i asked what about the latest bill, the chap said that i was in credit by £1.45,he then double checked everything then it turned out i should of been in credit by £7.70!!! so if you leave your provider its worth checking your final bill,if i didnt recieve the txt today i would of just left it & would of been £65 ish out of pocket0
