I hate taking things back now and very often don't buy unless I am 99% sure I will keep it.

I took some jeans back to TK Maxx the other day that were too small for my daughter. They had all the labels on, were in perfect condition and I had the receipt, but she said I will just refer this to the manager, came back and gave me my refund. No idea what that was all about!

Typical - I construct a well-reasoned and thoughtful answer and the only bit that gets quoted is the mistake!! :o:p

OP - I wasn't accusing you of being a serial returner, just saying that if you haven't tried something on in the shop, it's worth checking their returns policy before you buy.

LMAO how many women with a baby can go into the changing rooms and try things on?...I thought the receipt had both the trousers and the jeans on...thought they might have been nice didn't expect to be made out to be a shoplifter

I feel the same way about customers who think they know their rights and blatantly do not.

Maybe you didn't pay for the trousers in the first place, if they weren't on the receipt?
Gone ... or have I?

You were lucky to be offered a gift card though. I have tried to take things back without the receipt and been refused anything.Although I was told by TK Maxx that if I had the purchase on a credit card statement they would accept that as a receipt. That really annoyed me as I had paid for it with a TK Maxx gift card and they wouldn't even credit that.

OP.....Suggest you escalate and complain to Andy Clarke, ASDA Chief Executive, and Dave Forsey, Sports Direct Chief Executive via sending them emails to :

Dave.Forsey@sportsdirect.com

andy.clarke@asda.co.uk

Good luck and hope this helps.

Perhaps this is worth moving to the vent board as there doesn't seem to have been any consumer rights breach in this case and it seems the OP doesn't require any advice.

So you didn't take the right receipt originally, and now you're going to go and moan to the manager about it

I'm lucky i only ever pay with cashcard...I don't know how people go on if theyre buying things as a present and the shop doesn't give gift receipts? I usually buy online gonna stay with that in future...
