I got a reply from tecknet-online (Amazon Marketplace seller) today, so perhaps things are looking up
"Sorry, we didn't know it, neither. We ordered these long times ago from a Sony agency in HongKong. Please send it back to the following address with your order detail"
Their "explanation" seems a bit dubious, along with their grammar, but hopefully things will get sorted out.0 -
Nice one Lou Lou, I ordered a Sony card and when I read the thread sometime later I was a bit miffed that it was a fake. Working ok or not I wanted a Sony card and this was being mis-sold so as my reply stated I promptly e-mailed and got my money back
I have nothing better to do!!!!

Are you folks reporting this to Amazon and Sony , you cant let them get away with it.0

I sent an email to Amazon, who were apologetic but offered no advice other than letting me know I was too late to get a refund with their Guarantee.
I thought they'd tick off the Marketplace Seller, no idea if they have. I didn't email Sony, but I will now
This site has a good close-up pictures of fake Sandisk and Sony Pro Duo cards. You can see the markings on the genuine Sony card.

deanos wrote:Yes these fakes might work for a while , just imagine the senario you use your fake card in your camera you capture your childs first minutes of being born you take loads of photos and take it into boots to be developed only to find the data corupt and you have lost all your photos, well it happens as exactly the same thing happened to a friend of mine he was devistated and very upset
Crikey Sony must have a good guarantee then if they can guarantee their cards will never ever fail (or are they rich enough to fly over and shove the blighter back up so you can get a new set of photos?)0 -

The thing that gets me though is that Sony actually created the market for fakes themselves. If they'd used SD & Mini-SD instead of their own MS Pro Duo & M2 propriety formats then there never would have been the profits available in making and distributing fakes anyway!EGG are a bunch of complete bankers!0
