its a lie that these fakes do not work properly. I have 3 fakes, my friend has 2. All work without one single problem, never erased data, never had a slow performance, actually these fakes have a larger capacity than my sole genuine one.

this is from an actual user. I dont need to lie. Sony wont be getting my money when it comes to these memory sticks.

you can tell if its fake just by the sticker that is on the front. The genuine ones have this information printed onto the surface thus making the writing feel bumpyish.

the fakes just use a thin sticker.

sorry and youll also know from the outer packaging. the fakes have a poor seal and have around 3 or 4 small seals on either side.

the genuine packaging has a tight fit seal all the way round.

  • I bought a 2gb one from amazon marketplace. Turned out to be fake, seller offered money back, but in the end I kept it. Works ok so far.

Yes these fakes might work for a while , just imagine the senario you use your fake card in your camera you capture your childs first minutes of being born you take loads of photos and take it into boots to be developed only to find the data corupt and you have lost all your photos, well it happens as exactly the same thing happened to a friend of mine he was devistated and very upset

The price is a dead giveaway £22 is definately a fake 100%, just look on pricerunner the cheapest if £42 from reputable suppliers

  • Why take the chance just to save a few quid? It's not money saving if it breaks at just the wrong moment and you lose something valuable.

I am pretty p**ed off myself, for nearly £70 I would expect an authentic Sony product. I have emailed tecknet-online and asked for their opinion, and proof that they sell genuine Sony stuff. If they can't I'm posting it back and demanding a refund!

I've emailed amazon too, with details about my complaint. Let's see what happens..
  • Sorry if I have contributed to stirring up a hornets nest

The fakes I have received have all been printed on (I was lead to believe that genuine ones have the writting etched into rather than embossed style printed)
