    OP: I feel for you my friend. Short of preparing to leave as you've got chavscum living next door, i'd smear !!!!!! over their bins and see how they like it.

    I would actually do the opposite and go round with some cans of beer or a bottle of wine and see if he can be reasonable.

    You said that he said "there's no pleasing you", so perhaps you inadvertently did something in the past that upset him.

    Once you have tried that, if things don't improve, there is nothing much you can do except move.
