car attacked by stupid neds!
hello! just looking for a bit of advice. looks like local scallywags have poured brake fluid (or something similar) over a number of cars including my own!! the police are coming round to speak to me but wondering what they'll do - if anything? also, cost is an issue. it's looking to be a bonnet paint job needed... would it be worth claiming on my insurance or having to suck this up and get hit with the cost?

By the time you have paid the excess and increased premiums for having a claim, it would probably be cheaper to get it done yourself.(".)0

asif they done that.
To be honest dont get it done to quickly cos they may well return to do it again, try an put up with it for a short while.
But to answer your question chances are your better off paying the local body shop to sort it, by the time you pay any excess on the insurance claim and then lose no claims and have to declare you have made a claim, paying extra insurance for the next few years would be cheaper to fix it yourself I would think.
But depends if you have any no claims, your age and of course what the body shop quotes you.0 -

For now you could always get some fine wet and dry buff it up a little and get cheap spray can give it a layer just to stop the rust problem.
Or real cheap option but very ugly option is put layer of grease over it for now, but the body shop probley wont like that idea.0 -
that was one thing i was worried about, this was done in my car park just outside my flat! hate to think i suck it up and once it's fixed, they do it again. honestly, would love to string the little ***** up.
i'll do a bit of research on costs but don't want to lose my no claims."I believe in manicures. I believe in overdressing. I believe in primping at leisure and wearing lipstick. I believe in pink. Ironic how we have to have insurance by law, but we're to afraid to use it when we need to.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

Yeah very annoying that they are unable to help out on smaller claims like this.
Its very annoying how its simpley not worth it to make such claims when you have to pay so much to them every year.0
