Sky Broadband.

I am looking to join up with Sky, when I move, and was just wondering what the broadband speeds are like, and what is the best package to get?

I will be using the internet mainly for downloading, and browsing.

ive been with sky broadband for nearly 2 weeks now and im getting about 5.5mp download and 350kb upload most times of the day and night when i check the speed..... only had 1 little blip on the day of changeover (14/2/11) where internet worked fine, then when i tried a couple of hours later... couldnt connect... contacted sky broadband tech and they went through various options.... still couldnt connect..... they then promised a call back when they had tried a few things with higher up tech support... and within about 20 mins broadband came back on, sky called back about 40 mins later.... been happy ever since. I went for broadband with unlimited downloads, phone line with 24/7 anytime calls... (got broadband for 7.50 a month (3 months free) and line rental at 11.25 (got 12 months free anytime calls included in the deal!).

No-one can tell you what speed you will get, with Sky LLU its up to 20Mbps, with the awful Sky Connect its up to 8Mbps.

ADSL broadband is dependent on your distance from the exchnage noise on the line and the state of your internal wiring. You should be able to get an estimate either from the sky website or Samknows.

Put your phone number in the link below & it'll tell you the speed you can get on your line.Do NOT believe the salesperson who as they will,in must cases, try to sell you the highest package even tho your line may not be able to give it.

Maybe not but the highest packages come with unlimited bandwidth (FUP of course). No need to worry about reaching a 2gb limit that they offer.

Sky Unlimited BB has no FUP...
