Hi,
I hae an ISA with Santander (A&L) which i opened in March 2010 so funded for 2 years.
Now i want to transfer this to a better rate, Halifax have a 3% ISA allowing transfers in
Can I transfer this ISA to Halifax and then open the Santander 3.3% ISA and fund it next year?
Sorry - not used to ISA, this is the first time i've had to transfer

Yes you can do that, but some ISAs require immediate deposit, which you can't do. If you can open it with £0 and then top it up on April 6th,then great, but this may not be possible.0

Open the Halifax ISA online. Say 'No' to the question about whether you've paid any money into an ISA during the current tax year. Don't put any money into this account.
Print off the ISA Transfer form (here) and return it to Halifax.
They'll then transfer your Santander ISA across for you, and write to you when it's done.
Then, after 6th April, you can open the Santander ISA (or a different one if there's better available by then) and pay your 2011/12 allowance into that.0
