Not really, no. When you said the most cars come with free servicing, any sensible person would think that you believed that most cars came with free servicing.

I'm happy to confirm it didn't confuse me - but then again I was looking for a brand-specific answer.

I got a golf bluemotion last year on VW solutions, and got 3 yr free servicing, had first one last October and due next one soon(at 18000 just now). I think the free servicing offer just now is if you take out the vw solutions, but can be bought for £299 for other non financing ways of payment.

When I was looking for my car I visited another vw dealer, who offered a similar deal, but it wasn't vw's service plan, it was more like a 69 point service you get at kwik fit or somewhere like that.

Also what I was told at my dealership was that I could take my car to any vw service centre to have it done, but if I take it to them, they get the payment from vw for carrying out the service, which is probably the real reason for some dealers not wanting to promote it too much, you may decide it's easier to take it to another vw service centre at another part of the country.

It matters not where you take it, the price the finance company/VW pay is the same few pennies at every dealer/servicing satellite from Lands End to John O'Groats. You may as well keep it local to you, and then you have better come back & hopefully relationship should it be needed in the future (for discounts etc )
