Sorry for the delay in responding guys. Been jumping through hoops with Sainsburys and now Omnimount themselves! (Sainsburys have passed responsibility onto the manufacturer as they have had "a severely large issue with this product".

For those asking for details, the specification stated clearly that my television would be suitable, so based upon their information I did indeed hang "a big TV with a plastic bracket".

At present, I have sent all photographs to the Omnimount account manager who is handling cases for Sainsburys. He seems to be approachable and sympathetic, and eager to help (at this stage obviously!).

I will endeavour to update more when I hear it, and I thank everyone for your comments.
Greatful for the assistance of those more in the know regarding financial matters. :)

you should also contact your house insurance.. just incase these people don't accept liability for the extra damage.
  • easy claim, even tho the item has failed it is therefore there fault.
I was in a case were the vaccuum failed. although care was taken in the making of the vaccuum it still failed and therefore the customer was entitled to a refund plus costs.

Nevertheless, Sainsbury's are responsible to you (which they will be well aware of!)

They should deal directly with you, (and subsequently take the matter up with their suplier if they want to), and not have fobbed you off like this.

Yes that is true but sometimes it best to follow the path of least resistant with this fact as back up in case you get stuck with the manufacture.

Following the correct path is surely the best option!

Sainsbury took the money off the OP for the item in question, and it is they who are liable in law for it!

    Final Update:

Thanks for the information guys, you gave me the confidence to pursue this to the extent required, and deservedly so I have recieved a payout to replace eveyrthing damaged in this unfortunate event. They even reimbursed my sky subscription while my TV was down and threw in £100 compensation.

They did send me a replacement EZmount, but I dont think I will be using that on my new television!

    Thanks again everyone.

Using a thread title to accuse Sainsburys of "destroying your living room" when obviously they did not is totally irresponsible as you are leaving the site open to litigation for defamation, whilst you hide behind the (apparent) anonymity of your internet connection.
