Right I am well over. DH took me to the farm shop and as this doesn't happen often I stocked up on meat. Putting some in the freezer for next month. When I declare on Tuesday I will attempt to sort out my annual budget, to give me an idea if I can lower my monthly so I can keep in the annual IYSWIM.

Whilst at the farm shop we saw the lambing. It is sooo much better buying meat there. The children look around the farm with DH whilst I choose meat and veg. They also have a butcher there who will advise, joint etc... As an ex-vegetarian quality and animal welfare are important to me. We picked up some sausage meat from their own pigs so today I made HM mini pizzas (left-over dough from tear-and-share last night) and HM sausage rolls. Packed them straight from the oven into boot of the car then out for a hot picnic! Fresh air and hot sausage rolls - what is better?:T

My local is restricted to 2 per customer. I went in the morning with my eldest who bought 2 as well. At dinnertime we were driving closely so I thought I would see if there was any left. There were still loads so my hubby and I bought another 2 each!!!! I would normally go this morning buy now I don't have to!!!!

Just been to same shop there was a man in front of me and he was buying over 30 packs of the offer mince. He had emptied the fridge. It was 20mins til closing so it wasnt too bad, wonder what he was going to do with it all??

    Hi All

I can't really declare anything for this March as I lost track pretty quickly :o but I am determined to keep going. Please can you put me down for £200 for April? I am going to withdraw this at the begining of the month and work with cash only in an attempt to keep on track. Wish me luck!!
    Allie

Thanks to Mrs Macawber and Pink-winged for keeping the boards running.:T

i have been thinking about doing that myself - getting cash out and thats it.was going to do it for March - however as i get paid every so often i didnt have it all in one go.

I am hoping to do that this month and stop the little wasteful spends!!

I cooked some beef rib trim in the slow cooker last night, going to take the fat off and make a steak pie for dinner tonight. This cut has a lot of fat in it but its SO tasty. Looking forward to that.

Mothership - how weird is that, I also cooked our Beef Rib trim yesterday in the Slow Cooker, only got my first delivery last month and had never cooked this before, you may remember me asking you for advice on what to do with it, anyway, I defrosted 2 packs and it was delicious but as you say a lot of fat - left the remainder to cool and this morning removed the fat and I have frozen to use at a later date - the gravy was delicious, really steaky flavour.

Got my next delivery coming this week, can't wait but still got loads in the Freezer from last delivery.;)

My DR Beef trim is on the list for this week. Thanks for the info. Will plan to SC it one day and then eat the next once I've removed the fat.

Trying HM Naan bread tonight. Leftover curry for dinner.
