hi everyone i don't know if i've put this thread in the right place but here it goes i'm looking at getting a new dvd player and would like one that also records,i've looked on a few sites and really don't know which one to go for lg,song,samsung etc etc i've read a few reviews and samsung don't seem to be that good i don't need a high end state of the art one so i'm looking to spend up to about £150ish any idea's,i was thinking about blu-ray but they don't do recordable one's that are in my price range

The current range of Sony recorders are made by Samsung. Neither Samsung or LG have good name in this market segment (recorders). The current best make is Panasonic. But even they have their issues.0

As an alternative....have you considered something like a Humax freeview box that records?
Some of them have a huge memory and you could keep dozens of films in them.0 -

Two issues there, one they only record from their internal tuners, two if the HDD fails you loose everything, a DVD recorder is useful for backing up a PVR.0 -
With your budget your better with an LG or Toshiba they are good affordable brands that i cant fault.
Sony were highly rated up until the current generation of machines which are made for them by Samsung, which have a dire reputation... as do the new range of Sonys.0
