best for internet, low call usage

Hi,

I've been very happy with my 5 year old nokia 8310 on fresh pay as you go... (good size, does everything I want).
My usage is low (about £15 a month on fresh)...

I've been thinking I'd like to get a phone that I can use for the internet (web browser, maybe even ssh client if you can get them). My webmail providor has a wap friendly site...

Anyway what do people think is the best deal for me. I'm looking for 20-25 quid a month absolute maximum, but would pay up to £40 for the handset (obviously free is better though)... also I'd prefer 12 month contract.

I thought the 3 deals (talk 350 or something) seemed OK (some of them seem to be free handset and free rental which seems too good to be true really - then 2.50 a month for 10MB internet [is that enough?]).
Is it wise to join 3 now though (if they're being sold?)
Are the 3 phones ok now? I remember at the start they were supposed to be pretty crap.

Do any other providers have good internet packages?

Any recommendations of specific phones that are good for the internet?

I've always found the mobile market a bit of a minefield which is why I sort of moved out of it years ago... but Im a bit of a techie and I would really like internet on the go.

Thanks,

Orange or T-mobile you get a days browsing for £1, this is also 3G so 5 times faster than dial up, just get a cheapo unlocked 3g mobile

Orange you can buy call/text bundles on

T-mob can be 3p texts if u mainly text or 12p x net calls on different price plans
If I helped or saved you money - Thank me
If I helped you spend some money - spank me
    If I done both - :lipsrseal me:eek:
    :D

Thanks - I thought I would want the web browsing as part of a package so I can use it whenever I want - £1 a day is too much (I would end up avoiding using it).

I really was looking for a contract (so I can get a new phone as well) that would be good for my low call usage, with some kind of inclusive internet usage so I can use it as much as I want...
