Ethical bank with good online service

Hi All.

I've been with Smile for 3 years. There service has been really good and obviously they are a good, ethical bank. However, for an online only bank their lack of provision of a site suitable for access on a mobile phone or, preferably a mobile phone (android) app is disappointing.

I want to be able to bank whilst I'm mobile and they have stated they have no plans to optimise the site or provide apps.

Is anyone aware of a bank that is ethical, provides good online services and an android app please?

    there are no ethical banks
    there all charge fees
    they all charge interest
they all use up the earth scarce resources
    they all create excessive CO2
they all repossess if you don't pay the mortgage
they all avoid paying tax if they can

Many do claim to be carbon neutral!

Although there are strong arguments to suggest CO2 isn't really a significant problem .... but that's for another kinda forum!

I'm not aware of any bank that provides an Android app. First Direct and NatWest each have an iPhone app, but nothing for Android.

    Pity imo.

There are no 'ethical' people, at least not in the UK.
We live off the backs of developing countries and destroy the environment.

    All of us.

The artist formally known as HBOS:-

There's also (to name but a few):-
    Barclays
    Co-Op
    HSBC

I think it's more a question of who is not carbon neutral? Indeed Google "carbon neutral banks" and you get a fair few.
Anything I post is my opinion, so from time to time I may be wrong. I try to provide answers based in fact, however I don't know everything, so (like all posters on MSE), take what I say with a pinch of salt.

    Thanks for the links but

carbon offsetting is in my view an absolute fraud and will be shown to be such in due course
PS... That doesn't mean that each and every scheme is fraud but most will be shown as such.

Of course, carbon trading has already been suspended in most of Europe because of fraud.......... not quite the same of course
