A Verizon phone will never work on a UK carrier. Ever.0

looks like it could work on tmobile/orange. spec shows GSM 850 / 1800 / 1900 and as ora tmob is 1800..........0

No it wont.
If it's a Verizon phone it isn't GSM.0 -

I've used Motorola Tracphones in Florida, they are often CDMA/GSM dual band, but they are very seldom SIM locked. Mine wasn't from new. Have you actually put a SIM in it? What did it say? That said, the sensitivity was pretty naff and a GSM only handset usually outperforms it as GSM is used (or was then) mainly for urban high-density connections, where such issues weren't a problem. For all it cost, I doubt whether the cost of unlocking (if needed) would be worth the effort.0
