iphone repairs with o2

Options
Hi, I just wanted to let you all know that if you return an iphone to o2 for repair that they dont use Apple as their repair agent. my daughters iphone she recieved last christmas stopped working and we took it back to the o2 shop I bought it and they sent it away, to Apple I assumed.
It came back saying it would cost £140 to get it fixed as not covered by warranty as the screen was scratched! Anyhow, long story short, I took it to an Apple store and they exchanged it there and then for a new iphone as they confirmed it as faulty. Don't deal with o2 for repair, go directly to Apple whose customer service was fantastic. If i need to buy another iphone in the future i will buy driectly from Apple, not a mobile phone provider.

  • To the best of my knowledge, you should never take a faulty iPhone back to the network for repair but should take it straight to an Apple store. Some networks actually tell you this anyway.

Pretty much, I know O2 generally advise you to book an appointment at the genius bar if possible when you phone them, but if you go into an O2 store with it they're going to deal with it for you as plenty of people would feel they're being fobbed off. For all things Apple and Apple store is generally the best bet as they can usually replace it there and then for you.
