Vodafone contract users receiving wrong Internet settings

Vodafone just sent me a text message with Internet settings for my phone... Unfortunately they don't work! You'd think they'd test the settings before sending incorrect details to customers, but obviously they don't.

I have just spoken to their call centre who confirmed that I'd been sent the wrong settings - I'm not sure if this affects just me or everyone with a Vodafone contract (I assume this is an automated process so would affect everyone)...

Anyway, the access point name (APN) in the incorrect settings was "wap.accesspoint.co.uk" with a blank username and password. Apparently the details should be as follows:

APN: wap.vodafone.co.uk
user: wap
password: wap

The other details in the configuration SMS are correct, but if anyone needs them:

Proxy: Y
Proxy IP address: 212.183.137.12
Proxy port: 8799
Linger time: 90 seconds
DNS: N
Bearer: GPRS

Hope this helps someone...
