What does your daughter's lease state? What is there in writing which requires your daughter to display permission to park in the first place?

AlexisV, do you mind me asking what happened in the end about your own issue with an unwelcome PPC being foisted upon your residential car park?
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

It got quietly scrapped! The management company got sick of me complaining, along with lots of other residents who were signed up to the development's Facebook page.

I haven't heard anything since January and no signs or clampers ever appeared.

Brilliant. Shows these scams can be nipped in the bud. :T

Was it Castleford Management by any chance ? If not, it would still be interesting to know their name.

In no way should Devere Parking Services' operation be equated to larger, national or regional PPC's with automated operations. Devere is very local, operating mainly in the Bournemouth/Poole area and while some of the things they do may appear amateurish, to those who are uniniated or do not seek advice about Devere and the world of PPC's, you will be playing their game on their manor.

From what I've read about Devere, virtually every single aspect and person involved in their 'cases' that reach th'internet fall within a five mile radius of Bournemouth town centre. Devere are very likely to know and be able to find out a lot more about their targets than most PPC's and they will have the inclination to use that information.

Compare this to a typical Parking Eye scenario. I'm disappointed to have only received three letters before they gave up on me as the RK of a car that overstayed in a free car park by 12 minutes. I live 240 miles from Chorley, the ticket was issued at a car park 230 miles from where I live and about 250 miles from Chorley and it was all done by camera/computer.

I don't suppose anyone apart from Devere knows how many people they actually take all the way to court . However the number of people to whom they issue court/small claims papers may be very much greater. Do we know know how many people cough up when issued court/small claims papers ?

This is another case that involved a 'daughter' and I firmly believe that Devere carefully profile their 'court/small claims' targets, local, young, or less well off and as a result less likely to have access to legal knowledge or be able or willing to pay for it.

If anyone coming on to forums comes into those categories, I do not believe the 'blanket' advice should be to totally ignore Devere. By the time court/small claims papers are issued, a target may have ignored the first 'ticket' and then find they have 'ignored' more follow up letters from Devere which, surprise, surprise, they did not receive.
  • Hey guys

You all might be interested to note that Mr Steven Williams of Devere Parking Services launched county court action against me for 3 parking charge notices he placed on my vehicle in the grounds of my own home, one for having my permit displayed in the "wrong window", a 2nd for not displaying a valid tax disc for 3 weeks while my personalised plate was being transferred onto the car (dvla have to replace the tax disc and MOT certs), and a 3rd when a town centre shopper had parked in our space, so we parked the car next to it and we got a ticket for not using a marked bay!

End result is District Judge Collins threw the case out of court on the 18th August 2011, obviously awarding him no costs, not a penny, so a rather futile endevour and a waste of his time and money. I even wrote to the court to advise that I would not be appearing at the hearing as I felt it a complete waste of time. Judge Collins obviously agreed.

If the idiot tries to bully people just let him do it, it's his time and the court's time he is wasting.

Also complain to the AOS as I did too and the complaints, and dismissal of his court case against me have been duly noted by them too.

Poor sod won't be doing court again for a while

How sure are you that this chap is actually called Steve Williams? Can you describe him?
My very sincere apologies for those hoping to request off-board assistance but I am now so inundated with requests that in order to do justice to those "already in the system" I am no longer accepting PM's and am unlikely to do so for the foreseeable future (August 2016). :(

For those seeking more detailed advice and guidance regarding small claims cases arising from private parking issues I recommend that you visit the Private Parking forum on PePiPoo.com
