All seemed a bit fishy, but I reluctantly gave them some details. (Credit cards I had, mortgage I was still paying).
From these meager details, they pulled a magic figure of nearly £5K out the hat, and said I could be 'entitled' to this as a refund from 'hidden' PPI charges...(?!) At the same time, I received an email (I'd just given them my email address) and this contained their fee structure.....
I was then transferred to an advisor (deal closer) who was very friendly and personable right up to the point he wanted around £475 paid up front. He even went so far as to inform me that his company policy was to advise clients to put this fee on a credit card "which would be fine as long as I kept up the minimum monthly payment".
It was at this point I interrupted him...
"You want me to pay you nearly 500 quid over the phone, to a company I've never heard of and put it on my credit card? This phone call is over!" and put the phone down. From what I've read here since putting down that phone, I've had a lucky escape.....
Just wish I hadn't been dumb enough to give them so much information in the first place. Now they have my home number and my mobile, my home address and my email. Not good.
Glad to hear someone got their money back though....
:TWell done you; I always do the same....never give anyone your personal information; especially when you cannot see them. Too much information is dangerous. With the technology we have (i.e, Facebook, twitter etc); People today give too much information too freely.0 -
Been contacted by this company and have been sent the literature to sign and return, thankfully have not parted with any cash.
Has anyone got any 'success stories';) from this company?0 -

hard sell for 30, 40, 50% of any refund that could be 1000's of your monies
it will take you less than 30mins to fill out a consumer complaints questionnaire............
Look here for info and reasons for being miss-sold your ppi

Once you have had a read though and have your reasons. You will need to fill in a consumer complaints questionnaire. Which I would download, have a read though and familiarise with the questionnaire. The questionnaire can be found here
http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/rec...nsurance#step3
the main info you will need to complete the questionnaire is:- Loan account number/numbers
- start date
- finish date
- and your reasons
then complete the form and send it off
simples, hope that may help, good luck:D:p Perfer et obdurai dolor hic tibi proderit olim

Well after reading here on the forums I obviously decided not to give them any money to pursue my 'claim' and I decided to call them to get them to remove my personal details etc.
Anyway gave them a call back on the landline number sent by text message (not the 0844 number!!!) and spoke to the first person who had called me. They said 'oh you will have to speak to a supervisor about this' and that he would call me back. It was at this point that I also happened to mention to her that I am an advisor with my local CAB which includes money advice, which I am,I had also told the supervisor this at an earlier point. Her tone changed dramatically as she knew that I knew my rights under Data Protection.
To cut a long story short still waiting for that call and have sent them an email asking for my details to be removed and have so far had no reply, wonder why;)0 -
