Black buckets, without handles (that you see the bunches of flowers sat in, in water at the supermarkets).
Grew my chillis, peppers & toms in last year, bought from Morrissons.
Wow! they are quite a size for some of the prices quoted here. Is it something they have on display or do I need to flutter the lashes and flick my hair lolSmashed through my weightloss target. Looking at 120lbs+ loss. BMI over 40 down to 20.5. Training hard to get body fat under 20%, not far to go now :j0 -

Now I want them for my chillies! Would save some money on the pots.
Were they in the gardening aisle? If so I'll have a look in a different Morrisons as there was nothing like that in the gardening aisle of the one I looked in.0 -
I'm in Bath, and they tend to be hidden by the turnstiles into the store, 8 for 99p here.
I only bought them when I couldn't snaffle them from the rear of our old Somerfield Store (now a Tesco Express, which seems to have the reusable square numbers)

The same here. They are normally in the flower/garden section, under the stands wrapped in yellow tape at 8 for 99p. You can also ask staff as quite often they have them out the back too but can only have so many out at a time.0 -

I went in my local Sainsbury's and was feeling lucky so i asked. The lovely lady infomed me that no I could not buy flower buckets however, if there were any empty, to just take them. She did say though that they reuse the square ones now but any round ones were ok to have.0

Me again! It'll be time to plant out tomatoes and cucumbers soon and I'm looking for a cheap way to do this.
I have tried loads of supermarkets including 2 different branches of Morrisons (Bryn Mawr and Hereford) with no luck...
Anyone know a supermarket that will give away / sell flower buckets in South East Wales or Hereford?
Failing that, where can I get large plastic pots for under a pound per pot?
This growing veg thing is getting very expensive!0 -
As time is running out, suggest you look for builders buckets in skips, they tend to chuck them when the handles fall off or they split.
If not you can buy them for about 99p a bucket in builders places, and they will last you at least 10 years, but you will need to drill holes in the bottom.0 -
99p store has these: http://www.primrose.co.uk/reusable-growbag-p-6354.html?source=googleads&gclid=CKzuopCn6qgCFdFX4Qod3yLGCg and the pop up garden bags too but they are 30" deep.
At my local allotment there are toms planted in sainsburys reusable bag, the orange 40p ones, infact they have all sorts of things planted in them including tatties.0 -
Yep alot of stores are going over to the large squares ones. Managed to get a couple from Lidl last month. It might be worth going to your local co-op as I managed to get some there too.0
