It appears they are doing the standard 'let's drag this out in the hope that they'll just give up' tactic.

I agree but I do not give up if I think I am right, believe me!

Just need to decide what to do next I suppose.

    Update

Surprise, surprise deadline passed and no response whatsoever from Jet2.com.

I have purchased two other flights which has cost me an extra £350 and I will of course, try to claim that back from them but I feel a court case coming on sadly.

Why oh why do these companies do this kind of thing? If it is law, it is law and there ought to be a penalty that they have to pay on top of everything else when they don't comply.

What also bugs me is that if I cancelled on them, they would just keep the money and that would be that! I wouldn't have the luxury of treating them with utter contempt would I?:(

Giving people the brush off saves them money.

The CAA's ATUC has powers to fine Airlines, so let them know the nature of your complaint http://www.auc.org.uk/default.aspx?catid=306&pagetype=90&pageid=2416

They do however need more teeth, changes at the CAA are proposed

    Further update

Today I received a letter which is replying to my original letter sent 24th February(!!!) which completely ignores my following two letters.

    It states

'In addition to our own Terms and Conditions, in line with EC Regulation 261/2004 as we gave you more than 14 days notice of the cancellation, you are only entitled to a full refund of your flights.

Under EU law you are entitled to

A refund of the full price you paid for your ticket within seven days for the part or parts of your journey not made (and for the part or parts already made if the flight is no longer serving any purpose in relation to your original travel plan) and a return flight to the departure airport as soon as possible.'

The way I understand it the first sentence is just incorrect full stop and the second sentence contradicts the first or am I wrong?

    Still battling on though.................................

    Thoughts welcomed

Thanks for the information, Cityboy - I am starting to file a claim using Money Claim Online.

I will of course, let you know how I get on!

If you are including others make sure they are listed as claimants in the claimant box, if some of them are children read up about how to include them, if you can't list all in the claimant box it may be preferable not to use MCOL.
