Littlewoods - their error leaving my money in limbo.....

I 've had such a frustrating day dealing with Littlewoods!
On Monday I ordered some furniture items to the total of £1,220. I paid in full by debit card, and the transaction went through fine so I was told, no reason it shouldn't.
Today (yesterday now) I get a call to say that the transaction had been stopped by their security team as some info didn't tally. It transpires that the customer service guy input an incorrect expiry date.
They then inform me that the £1,200 I paid is in a holding account with my bank as a result so I need to now sort that out with the bank, in their experience it will take 7-10 days for my money to be back in my account!
I then call bank they say that this is rubbish and all Littlewoods need to do is cancel the transaction, until they do money remains in this holding account ready to go to Littlewoods. I called them back and got cut off. Called again and was told their system had crashed. They called me again in the evening, was again cut off so I called straight back and was told they are now closed!!!
I'm so annoyed about this as we are moving house this week, we need the furniture and instead am currently down by over a grand until they get their act together so can't even shop elsewhere

Hello again, the last line of my post didn't show up for some reason, but do I have grounds to complain about this?
Is it worth complaining about this due to the massive inconvenience and delay this is causing me? I have taken the address for the complaint dept, the thing is I don't think they will actually do anything, which makes it all the more frustrating!
I have again spoken to them regarding the whereabouts of my money today and they will only say that I have to wait 7-10 days for me to get my money back - when it was declined due to a mistake made by their staff!
I am fuming about their lack of apology or any possible solution.
If they said that they would prioritise delivery when the situation is resolved I'd be happy, but nothing.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!0 -
Hi Annie,
I posted alittle while ago about an issue with Littlewoods, see my thread https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/3043154
a littlewoods rep posted with an email address, I got my return, suite was picked up today, they will be refunding the money and I ordered a new suite that Lisa has promised 10% off when it arrives so it might be worth sending her an email, I will be one happy customer when it arrives. Hope this helps

Thanks Gemma, I'll take a look at that and see if I have any joy. I still want the furniture, I can't buy anything else any faster because of the situation anyway, so I'll see what they say at that email address.
Thankyou0
