phone dilemma.

Options
i recently took out a new contract in a very well known phone shop with a new network as my current provider wouldn't give me the phone i wanted as an upgrade. I was informed that my phone wouldnt be activated straight away but should be working within 24hours. after a week it was still not activated so i called into the store to find out why. the manager at the store contacted the new provider to ask why this was and they had no record of me. the manager informed me that i was to keep the phone as he could not take it back due to it being sold on their system, but i cant help feeling bad. as far as im aware i wont be getting charged by the new provider as they have none of my details and never activated the sim. i have rang the number that was allocated to my new phone and have a dead line. im just not sure what to do for the best now, any help would be great. thanks

Well, I'd keep using the phone with some other sim for a while, but keep an eye on the bank account where the Direct Debit is supposed to appear.
I'd contact the network again in a week or two to make sure that I don't have any contract with them. Happy days.
  • thats what my other half said, i guess i could argue the toss with the provider if push comes to shove as they never activated the sim? they can have the phone back if it comes to that anyway. thanks :)

If they are saying you never bought anything from their store, do you have a reciept? Or if not does it show on a bank statement? could they trace you through CCTV? Was this 3? they make loads of mistakes if my own experiences are anything to go by and if it is you need to be fast on their heels to rectify it as they wont do anything for you.
  • No its a well known phone shop that sells contracts from all providers. I have my reciept for the phone so im not worried about that. It was the fault of the person who sold it to me as she put it all through but did not send my details onto The provider.
