All the couriers i have ever come across expect you to wait in all day for them, and expect the item to be fully packed and boxed to their specifications

That is another point I haven't even mentioned really. My husband is working away most of the week at the moment, and I work full time. So with collection-only, I was expecting someone to pop round at a mutually agreeable time one weekday evening or anytime over a weekend. However this buyer's courier only works in the week which means taking a day away from work, and doesn't seem to be in my area very much.

However for a courier, I have to arrange to be away from work for a whole day which is really inconvenient and not what I had wanted at all :( I agreed to his initial requests just to try and keep the peace and complete the transaction amicably. But I think that was a mistake and I am now going to pay for being too soft unfortunately.

    Hi custardy,

Thanks again for your help, but this isn't really an option as I don't think it would fit in our car unfortunately.

Just to add another angle on this, I sold an item for £150.00 and they paid by paypal and there courier collected unpacked/wrapped/labelled.

Many many months later no paypal disputes chargebacks etc just some nice positive feedback.

By all means yes you may be open to a problem, but that doesn't mean everybody is a scammer.

    Hi,

You're probably all fed up of this saga by now - I know I am. But just to update, having sent the updated invoice a few days ago I've had no further responses from the buyer.

But have just logged onto my eBay account to see that he has done what I had feared, and left me my first negative feedback.

He's said "didnt get enough for item has blocked attempts to collect wants cash no paypal"

I'm probably going to have to pay someone to take the item away now as it is of no use to me, so his comments are certainly untrue. If anything I hadn't expected perhaps more than the 99p starting price and would have been more than happy had someone come and collected it from me at that price.

Anyway, looks like I need to work out how to leave a response to his feedback. I know you only have limited characters and I also want to avoid 'retaliating' and making myself look bad. Any suggestions as to how I should word it? I've never had to do this before and am a bit out of my depth :o

    Thanks.

EDIT : here is my attempt at fitting something meaningful within the 80 chars, what do people think?

Untrue.Won collection-only but wanted courier.Tried to do but £££ due to lg size.

Or maybe this is slightly better:

    "Untrue.Collection-only but wanted courier.Courier£££ due to size,buyer won't pay"

I find it hard to fit into 80 chars as I don't really do text-speak and hate having to shorten words.

I'd keep it simple, make the buyer look like a prat. Put something like 'buyer refused to collect, expected delivery '

Wait to see what other suggestions you get, some people on here have a wonderfully twisted mind and can often word things to get a real 'kick' in there.

Oh dear too late! I've put a response on now. To be honest I just want to get it out of my mind and stop thinking about it, because I feel really aggrieved that someone can get away with behaving like this, and yet it is only the seller that ends up with any detrimental consequences.

I've also found that I can't seem to raise another 'unpaid item dispute' on this auction. I had raised one initially when they had not collected and paid, and so they paid via Paypal.

After advice on here I refunded this amount, and sent new invoice which included courier costs. So I still need to file an unpaid item.

But I cannot see any option to do so. I've just sent eBay a message but I have a feeling they won't read it properly and might just sent an automated response with instructions on how to raise an initial unpaid item dispute.
