Anyone used UPAD or House Network to let their property?

OK, I agree with Doozer, so let's precis: THEY'RE !!!!!!0

Pastures New - I wouldn't expect to see properties on their own website, surely the point is that they advertise on Find a Property/ Right Move etc., which is where I want my property to be advertised.
I must admit to being a bit baffled by where this thread is heading, its hard to filter what is self-promotion vs a genuine recommendation.0 -

i did have a look on the site and found no properties too.
i made my mind up by the fact that everyone recommending them only has 1 post to their name. this is a big no no for me as i couldnt afford to lose that kind of money when i let my property, so im oot.0 -
thought it was too good to be true , back to the drawing board ,my favourite food is spare ribs0

I think some of you may have misuderstood what Upad and others do.
Sites like these are really a service for landlords.
There is not huge volumes at these sites on their own but what they (and all other decent letting agents do - both pure online ones and high street ones) is they upload all their properties onto the big portals where of course there are thousands of properties for you to choose from.
That's what the service is about.
So if I was a tenant looking for property, yes you are right, I would just look at the portals - Rightmove, Zoopla, primeLocation, FindAProperty - because that's where all the properties put on sites like DiscountLetting, UPAD and all the rest of the LOCAL agents end up.
Hope that clears it up for you.0 -

In a minute, just one last thought for the OP - you could phone/e-mail UPAD or HN and ask them, in the same way as you would for a high street agent - How many houses/flats have you sold/rented/are managing in my street/neighbourhood/village/town/city in the last quarter/half year/year?
That might get a more direct answer than this forum0 -
I have seen them "recommended" by a common poster on Landlordzone, who I think also posts here. I haven't used them but as a landlord am thinking about it, not because of the advertising on their site, but access to the big portals.0

Thanks everyone for your input. Think its too big a risk to take being abroad and using one of these companies...so I'm going to stump up the cash for another agent <sigh>. However, I've managed to find a local agent who will only charge the initial finder fee and not for subsequent years, so a small bonus there.0

I don't think there is anything "slightly" about it, it smells to high heaven. They may be excellent but this stinks. It's someone else's fault.0
