Broadband/Internet without phoneline

Hi, I' just moving into a 1 bedroom flat and there is no active phone-line. I've read I have two options- cable broadband or a dongle for approximately £15 per month.
I don't want to commit to more than a 6 month contract but cable seems to be 12 month and dongle 18 or 24 month.
Could anyone who has any experience of this kind of internet please advise!
Thanks in advance

I use prepaid 3 dongles, and top them up with SIMs from eBay. This seems to be the cheapest option. It depends on how many films you want to watch!Who having known the diamond will concern himself with glass?

The early termination fees were reduced for cable last October, I think.
Given that cable will outperform 3G just about everywhere (unless you live right next to a university campus):
You can get Three on PAYG - 7GB costs £25. Perfect for email, browsing, one or two films a month or a bit of TV and no commitment.
But I'd work out the early termination fee with cable and weigh up the numbers, since cable will provide anything up to 100Mbps downstream whereas 3G will struggle for 7Mbps on an extremely good day, 2 to 3Mbps is more normal.0 -

You have a third option, which is to get an ADSL line installed, though most suppliers require a 12m contract-the PO is one exception. No free lunch, and no free laptop
